1. Introduction

Timeara ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal time-tracking app built by Mustafa AlSadeq. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

Timeara stores most of your data locally on your device using Hive (an offline database). We do not collect, transmit, or store personal data on external servers, except when you choose to use Smart Add as described in Section 5 below.

The following data is stored only on your device:

• Item names, dates, categories, and notes you enter
• App preferences and settings

3. In-App Purchases

Timeara offers optional Premium subscriptions via Apple's In-App Purchase system (RevenueCat). Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment information.

4. Notifications

If you enable Yearly Reminders or other reminder types, the app schedules local notifications on your device. No data is sent to any server as part of the notifications feature.

5. Smart Add / AI Processing

Smart Add is an optional feature that lets you create new items by typing or speaking. It is entirely optional — all other Timeara features work without it.

What happens when you use Smart Add:

• The text you type, or the text transcript produced from your voice input, is sent over HTTPS to Timeara's backend server.
• Timeara's backend sends that text to the OpenAI API so the AI can understand your input and return structured details such as title, date, category, and reminder information.
• Timeara's backend does not intentionally persist your Smart Add text after the request is processed.
• Raw microphone audio is not sent to Timeara's backend. Speech recognition is handled by your device's built-in speech services. Only the resulting text transcript is transmitted to Timeara's Smart Add service.
• OpenAI may process submitted text according to their applicable API data usage policies. See OpenAI API Data Usage Policies.

If you prefer not to send any text to external services, simply do not use the Smart Add feature. All manual entry remains fully local.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat – subscription management. Their privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
• Apple App Store – app distribution and purchases.
• OpenAI – used only when Smart Add is invoked, to process the submitted text and return structured event information. Their API data policy: openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies

7. Children's Privacy

Timeara is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
